Memories with DCA friends in UiTM Penang

This is just the beginning of my life in the University! I was elated yet felt very nervous when I took the first step into the UiTM Penang. I've made new friends there and they were friendly and humble. I thought that the Culinary Art course is only for those who are able to cook but I was wrong. The purpose of this course is to teach any kind of students to cook professionally, manage the kitchen or floor, understand the food products, learn the system that hotel used and so forth.

This course also provides a strong foundation for students who dream to be chefs in local and international level. There were many subjects that I've learned during the semesters which are accounting, management, marketing, computer systems, economics, food hygiene, cost control, food science, law, retailing and many more. I didn't aspect that I could do these tough subjects and thank God (Alhamdulillah) I finally made it!

There was too many good and bad memories during my study. I was happy to be in the team of DCA (Diploma in Culinary Arts) students because now I am able to cook varieties of foods such as Western, Italian, Mediterranean, Chinese, Turkish, Arabic and Asian. To me, if someone understands his or her food recipe, I'm sure he or she could try to cook it again and again to make the meal taste and look perfect. We also learned to carve fruits by using our tiny, sharp paring knife and the chef who thought us was satisfied with our hard work. My classmates are now like my own family and siblings because we love and take care of each other at all times.

The picture above shows that we ( was in Part 1 student) made our first cooked dish.

Above picture : My fruit and vegetable carving.
This was the moment that I had to be the Manager Of the Day ( M.O.D.) and it was stressful yet fun!
